mutua, 2022Machokos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua will be joining the race for state house come 2022, he has said after the Machakos High Court upheld his August 8 win on Friday.

“I am happy, really happy, today is a declaration that the journey to Statehouse is on and in 2022 I will vie and by God’s Grace I will win to become the 5th President of Kenya,” Mutua told his supporters who broke into song and dance.

“To Kenyans, the time for fresh leadership that is not tribal, clean, visionary, creative, and energetic and with a new way of doing things is here with us. I am ready to serve you,” he added.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader also extended an olive branch to his rival, Wavinya Ndeti who’s petition against him was dismissed due to lack of sufficient evidence.

“Wavinya, I welcome you to come we work together. Yaliyopita sindwele, Tungange yajayo. Whether you supported me or others, I am your Governor and will serve you and work with you.”

The county boss has said that he will take over from Kalonzo Musyoka who failed to clinch the Presidency in 2007 and has since then been deputizing opposition leader, Raila Odinga.

Last week he launched a scathing attack on Musyoka after he failed to show up for the ‘swearing in’ ceremony of Odinga.

“On the other hand, it is now CRYSTAL clear to ALL that Kalonzo Musyoka has over and over again proven he can NEVER be DEPENDED on. Trust him at your own peril,” he said on Twitter.

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, Deputy President William Ruto, Musyoka, ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi are all expected to be on the ballot come 2022.
