Two Nairobi county officers were on Thursday arrested as they received a Sh60,000 bribe in Spring Valley, Westlands.
According to governor Mike Sonko, the two were with two other impostors when they were caught in the act.
The county chief also noted that they were soliciting for a Sh100,000 bribe “in order to offer free county services and issue fake Single Business Permit licence to the public.”
“The arrested officers had demanded a bribe of Ksh100,000 after negotiations the figure was reduced to Ksh60,000,” he wrote on Facebook.
More County staff, Sonko added, are expected to be arrested in connection with this unethical behavior as it involved a big chain of senior cashiers, accountants and auditors from the county.
