The National Criminal Investigations Academy (NCIA) has commenced a five-day Intelligence Profiling and Analytics Course for officers from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
The training is aimed at strengthening the officers’ capacity in intelligence profiling, analysis and interpretation of information to support informed decision-making and intelligence-led enforcement within KRA.
Speaking during the opening ceremony on behalf of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), NCIA Commandant Ibrahim Jillo challenged the participants to make full use of the training and apply the skills acquired in their day-to-day work.
“You are here to sharpen your ability to turn information into intelligence, and intelligence into action. Take advantage of this training, challenge yourselves, and return to KRA ready to make better-informed decisions,” Jillo said.
Representing KRA, Prisca Mutindi emphasised the importance of applying the knowledge and skills acquired during the course to strengthen the Authority’s enforcement capabilities.
“The value of this training will be measured by what you take back to your workplace. I encourage you to learn, engage and apply these skills to strengthen KRA’s ability to identify risks and stay ahead of emerging threats,” she said.
The training forms part of NCIA’s broader mandate to provide specialised and competency-based training to law enforcement agencies and other government institutions.
The Academy said the programme also seeks to strengthen inter-agency collaboration in the prevention and investigation of crime by equipping officers with specialised intelligence skills.
NCIA will also conduct additional training in Basic and Advanced Intelligence Analysis, Surveillance and Asset Tracing.
The courses are expected to further enhance the capacity of participating officers to conduct intelligence-led investigations, identify emerging risks and support effective enforcement operations.
The latest training comes as government agencies continue to strengthen the use of intelligence and data analysis in decision-making and enforcement operations.
