    Norman Powell is an American professional basketball player born on May 25, 1993, in San Diego, California.

    His basketball career began at Lincoln High School, where he led his team to a state championship. He then played college basketball for UCLA, earning first-team All-Pac-12 honors.

    Powell was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in 2015 but was traded to the Toronto Raptors, with whom he won an NBA championship in 2019.

    Recently, he has gained attention for partnering with Skechers, marking a significant move into the NBA shoe market.

    Norman has two older sisters, Joniece Powell and Margaret Powell.

    Joniece owns a jewelry business and holds three master’s degrees, while Margaret teaches at Francis Parker Prep School in San Diego and runs a dance studio.

    They were raised by their mother, Sharon Powell, after their father, Norman Powell Sr., left the family when Norman was young.

    Powell began his journey at Lincoln High School in San Diego, where he led his team to a state championship.

    He then attended UCLA, playing for the Bruins from 2011 to 2015.

    Powell was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 46th overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft but was immediately traded to the Toronto Raptors.

    In Toronto, he initially played a limited role but gradually increased his playing time and impact over the years.

    In 2019, Powell was part of the Raptors team that won the NBA championship, defeating the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.

    In March 2021, Powell was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Gary Trent Jr. and Rodney Hood.
