Migori governor Okoth Obado has taken a plea of not guilty in the murder of pregnant lover Sharon Otieno.
He was charged with murder contrary to section 203 as read with section 204 of the penal court where him and others not before court are accused of murdering the 26 year old.
His lawyers had made an application for bail but the investigating officer has sworn an affidavit to deny this application. The prosecution have therefore asked for more time and remand Governor Obado pending the hearing of the bail application.

Justice Lesiit ordered that the bail application be heard on Tuesday afternoon. The lawyers for the governor had asked the court to allow the governor to be remanded at Gigiri police station in the mean time.
The court ruled that the governor be held at Industrial area prison. The Migori governor has been in remand since Friday when he was arrested.
