The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has officially expelled Malndi MP Aisha Jumwa.

The decision was adopted by the National Governing Council (NGC) as recommended by the National Executive Council (NEC).

The “rebel” legislator has been facing disciplinary action after she openly pledged her support to Deputy President William Ruto.

The lawmaker has been fighting the party decision through lawyer Kipchumba Murkomen who stated that her (Jumwa) and Msambweni’s Suleiman Dori’s actions were in line with the “Building Bridges Initiative” started by President Uhuru Kenyatta and the party leader Raila Odinga.

She had earlier blamed Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho for her troubles when she apparently rejected his sexual advances.
