Orange Democratic Party (ODM) has come out to claim that all the party aspirants in the race to replace the late Ben Oluoch Okelo as Migori Senator have agreed to support the decision of the party to directly select the candidate.

According to the party, six of the eight aspirants who applied for the party’s ticket met with the election board and powerful central committee where they agreed to support the decision of the party to directly select its candidate for the vacant seat.

The statement signed by party chairman John Mbadi also revealed that the aspirants agreed to support the selected candidate and not resort to court cases after the decision.

The party’s NEC also promised the candidates that it will employ a process which is objective and verifiable. Some of the considerations in the process will include loyalty, popular support and integrity.

ODM is expected to announce Ochillo Ayacko as its sole candidate in the by-election.
