Orange customers will from tomorrow enjoy the most competitive international calling rates in the local market.

The Integrated Communications provider Telkom Kenya has launched a special offer for the month of Ramadhan that will see Orange customers make calls for as low as 8 shillings per minute to the USA, Canada, India and China.

“This offer is aimed at making it more affordable for our customers to spread the joy of Ramadhan to their friends and relatives who are outside Kenya”, said Head of Corporate Communications Angela Ng’ang’a-Mumo.

She added, “The Ramadhan offer will see the cost of making calls to Uganda, Tanzania and Australia reduced to 15 shillings per minute and 20 shillings to Europe, the rest of Africa and Asia.”

Calls to Russia and Eastern Europe will be priced at 25 shillings a minute and 35 shillings a minute to the rest of the world.

Ms. Mumo said they are using their superior VOIP service to activate the offer, meaning that calls made abroad from the Orange network will be very clear and will have minimal delays.

The offer runs from the 12th August 2010 to 15th September 2010, and applies to calls made from prepaid Orange mobile phones, wireless (CDMA) and Telkom fixed customers.
