Orange Spoiling for a Fight, Airtel not Interested

Orange Kenya seems to be spoiling for a fight with Airtel. Airtel is clearly not interested. Airtel must be seeing Orange as a minnow not worth fighting. Infact I think that Airtel would rather fight Yu but not Orange. In an advert in the Daily Nation, Orange uses the line “Dont just feel Free, Talk for Free”.

Airtel launched a permanent tariff called Feelanga Free Everyday which seems to be the target of attack by Orange’s marketers. How it will pan out, we are still watching but we doubt if it will really have the effect on the mentality of Airtel’s prospective clients.

Orange uses the wrong medium to relay the message. How many read newspapers? A viral video on TV, Facebook and Youtube would have just worked great.
