    Painter dies after falling from sixth floor of house under construction in Embakasi

    A painter died after falling from the sixth floor of a house under construction in Embakasi area, Nairobi.

    Police said Edward Mbatha, 56 was among workers at the site and he was painting a wall when he slipped and fell off.

    The incident happened in the Tassia area on February 2 evening. The victim was using a ladder in his work when he fell off and was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police were called to the scene and announced they were investigating it.

    In Ndhiwa, Homa Bay County, a four-year-old boy died after he swallowed an object that choked him.

    The PPI pupil is said to have swallowed what was yet to be known which chocked him, police and the school administration where the incident happened said. The deceased was among pupils at Jether Salem Academy playing at their field on Monday when he complained he could not breath because of the object that he had swallowed.

    The boy was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police said they are investigating the incident and an autopsy that was planned for Tuesday was to tell what he had swallowed.

    In Masara, Migori County, a man was found killed in Nyasoko forest in an incident. The motive behind the murder was not immediately established, police said. The body of Charles Odhiambo, 60 was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy, police said adding they were investigating the murder.

    And in Kangeta, Meru County, one Raphael Kirimi, 30 was found dead after suspected murder.

    The deceased had a leg injury, police said, adding he may have been killed and dumped at the site.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.

    In Lamu’s Pangani area are investigating an incident where one Muriungi Mutuku, 37 died after he was hit and injured in the head while intervening in a fight between a couple.

    The man died in hospital while being attended to. Police said they are investigating murder in the incident.
