P!nk, the electrifying American singer and songwriter known for her powerful voice, rebellious spirit, and acrobatic live performances, has long captivated audiences worldwide.

Born Alecia Beth Moore on September 8, 1979, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, she adopted the stage name P!nk early in her career.

Raised in a family marked by her parents’ divorce when she was young, her mother Judith Moore was an emergency room nurse of Jewish descent, and her father James Moore was an insurance salesman and Vietnam veteran, P!nk grew up navigating personal challenges that would later fuel her raw, honest songwriting.

Her heritage blends Irish, German, and Lithuanian Jewish roots, shaping her multifaceted identity.

    Siblings

P!nk’s siblings consist primarily of one older brother, Jason Moore. Jason has largely stayed out of the public eye despite his famous sister’s global fame.

A decorated Air Force veteran, he served as a Lieutenant Colonel and has since retired from military service.

The two share a close, supportive bond, with P!nk often expressing gratitude for having a brother in rare family photos she shares on social media.

    Career

P!nk’s career launched in the late 1990s after she joined the R&B girl group Choice, which disbanded before releasing an album.

She then pursued a solo path, signing with LaFace Records.

Her debut album, “Can’t Take Me Home” (2000), introduced her bold style with hits like “There You Go” and “Most Girls,” blending pop and R&B.

She evolved dramatically with her second album, “M!ssundaztood” (2001), collaborating with producers like Linda Perry to craft an edgier, rock-infused sound that produced massive singles such as “Get the Party Started,” “Don’t Let Me Get Me,” and “Just Like a Pill.”

This shift solidified her as a versatile artist unafraid to challenge norms.

Subsequent releases like “Try This” (2003), “I’m Not Dead” (2006), “Funhouse” (2008), “The Truth About Love” (2012), “Beautiful Trauma” (2017), “Hurts 2B Human” (2019), and “Trustfall” (2023) showcased her growth, tackling themes of empowerment, relationships, motherhood, and resilience.

Known for high-energy tours featuring aerial acrobatics and emotional depth, P!nk has sold millions of records and become one of the best-selling artists of her generation.

    Accolades

P!nk’s accolades include three Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards (one for Outstanding Contribution to Music), a Daytime Emmy Award, seven MTV Video Music Awards, and two MTV Europe Music Awards.

She has also received honors such as the Billboard Icon Award, the Billboard Legend of Live Award, the iHeartRadio Music Icon Award, and the People’s Champion Award.

Billboard named her Woman of the Year in 2013, and she has been celebrated for her songwriting prowess with the BMI President’s Award.
