Police Arrest 'Garbage Collector' Photographed With A Gun - PHOTOS

The police have arrested a ‘garbage collector’, Alex Maina, from Embakasi who was photographed with a gun earlier today.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the man was arrested after Kenyans on social media shared his photo online and alerted the police. Maina was arrested alongside an accomplice, James Kirucha.

“A man who was photographed armed & the matter brought to our attention has been arrested & will be charged accordingly. We thank #KOT for bringing this matter to our attention & for additional information that we received through DMS. Let’s work together to keep our country safe,” tweeted the DCI.

The man is said to be among a group of youths terrorising residents in Mukuru Kwa Ruben, Mukuru Kwa Njenga and Pipeline areas in Embakasi.

The gang is said to pose as garbage collectors within the slums of Mukuru in exchange for a weekly fees like Ksh20 per house.

At night, the gang turns wild and starts terrorising residents, and even killing those who try to resist.
