Officers from the National Police Service in Tigania East Sub-County, Meru County, have recovered 204 cattle stolen during a night raid in the area.

According to a police statement, the recovery followed a swift and coordinated response by officers. The stolen animals were traced to the Madoadoa area along the Isiolo-Gambela Road, where police confronted the cattle rustlers in a fierce exchange of gunfire.

All the recovered cattle have been secured and returned to their rightful owners.

“The National Police Service continues to step up operations against livestock theft through coordinated patrols, multi-agency collaboration, and community partnerships, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding livelihoods and enhancing security,” the statement said.
