The officers claimed to have with them a search warrant. They say that Khalwale was reportedly in possession of tyres meant to light bonfires during the October 26 elections.

The former governor candidate in the morning posted a picture of a mob lynching a man who had allegedly shot a bodaboda rider before robbing him of his motor bike.
