Police are investigating an incident where the body of a police officer was found in a ditch near the fence at the Lucky Summer police station, Nairobi.
The body of constable Benjamin Bore who was stationed at Kariobangi North police station was found in a drainage culvert with his head superimposed.
The officer was a resident of Lucky Summer police line.
Police said the deceased had blood oozing from his mouth and that there no visible injuries then.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
The cause of the death is yet to be established, police said.
In Eldoret, a police officer was attacked and seriously wounded in a robbery in in Jerusalem area of Sigot Sub-location of Chepkoilel location.
The officer attached to Eldoret Central police station sustained a deep cut in the head and robbed of his mobile phone, Sh200 and other personal valuables.
He said he was coming from work and was headed home when he was attacked on Saturday night.
He was admitted at a local hospital in a stable condition even as police investigate the attack.
In Langas area, Eldoret, a pistol loaded with 15 bullets was found in a sack full of garbage. The sack had been dropped off by a group of street children who escaped on foot.
Police said they checked the sack and found a Ceska pistol with 15 bullets. Detectives are investigating the ownership of the weapon and if it has been used in any crime.
Elsewhere in Ringa, Homabay, police are investigating murder after a body of a man was found on the roadside.
The man was found dead on Saturday night after an attack by an unknown assailant.
The motive of the attack is yet to be known.
The body had blood oozing from the left ear when it was discovered and later moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
