Opposition leader Raila Odinga said Tuesday he will address the nation next week on his next political move.

This follows his loss in the concluded Africa Union Chairmanship (AUC) elections in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Raila kicked off in earnest his consultative meetings on Tuesday holding the first one in Kisumu after arriving from Mombasa on Monday night.

He met elders from the Luo council in the morning in a closed-door meeting that was attended by elders drawn from Kisumu, Migori, Homabay and Siaya counties.

Later in the afternoon, the former premier held a close to two-hour closed-door meeting at the City Hall with youths from across the county.

Speaking to the press after the city hall meeting, Odinga said his consultative meetings would be held across the country including Western, Coast, Central, North Eastern and even Rift Valley regions.

The former prime minister at the same time noted that he took the time to share with the elders and the youths his experience at the AUC elections and would now put it in the past.

He said he was engaging on their views on critical affairs of the country and reaffirming their commitment to democratically empower the next generation of leaders.

The Opposition chief jetted into the country on Monday and afterwards met President William Ruto at the Coast where the latter announced that his administration would work with Odinga to achieve the government’s development agenda.

Many believe Ruto and Raila have signed an agreement to work together and that their respective parties will meet later to ratify the same
