Retired teacher found murdered outside his house in Nakuru

Detectives are investigating the brutal murder of a retired teacher whose body was found outside his house in Likia, Njoro, Nakuru County.
Police said the body of Samuel Muchiri was discovered on Monday, December 15, 2025 morning, long after the murder.
The motive of the murder was not immediately established.
Police said the man had had visible deep cuts in the head and the body lay outside his house.
A team of police that visited the scene said they are pursuing good leads into the fatal attack. His house had been ransacked.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures, police said.
In Kabras, Kakamega County, one Muhanji Lumasai died after being cut in the head by a panga in an altercation.
Police said the man succumbed to the injuries in hospital. A suspect was later arrested over the murder. Police said he was to face murder charges. Police visited the scene of the murder as part of the probe into the same.
In Khachonge, Bungoma County, a group of private security guards was seriously injured in a robbery at a coffee store.
A gang raided the Khachonge Coffee Farmers’ Cooperative Society while armed with crude weapons. They cut a barbed wire forming part of a fence around the facility to access it before they beat up three guards who were on duty and tied them in a room.
Police said the gang broke a store and stole 16 bags of dry coffee weighing 50 kilos valued at about Sh1 million before escaping.
The guards were rushed to hospital and admitted in stable condition.
Police said they are investigating the incident. Such attacks and robberies of coffee products have been rampant in the area. Detectives have arrested some of the suspects behind the trend and recovered the stolen products.
