A gang raided the Khachonge Coffee Farmers’ Cooperative Society while armed with crude weapons. They cut a barbed wire forming part of a fence around the facility to access it before they beat up three guards who were on duty and tied them in a room.

Police said the gang broke a store and stole 16 bags of dry coffee weighing 50 kilos valued at about Sh1 million before escaping.

The guards were rushed to hospital and admitted in stable condition.
