Presidential hopeful Fred Matiangi Friday said the country under President William Ruto, is captured by a “leadership so clueless and incompetent ” to be of any better good to the citizens.

He also credited the release of two Kenyan activitists from Uganda to former president Uhuru Kenyatta.

“How else can you describe this if not grave incompetence,” he said.

Matiangi is angling for presidency on the Jubilee Party .

He was referring to activists -Bob Njagi and Nicholas Oyoo – who were abducted by Ugandan soldiers in on Oct. 1, shortly after attending a rally by Museveni’s most prominent challenger, an entertainer, Bobi Wine

The duo were later released to the Kenyan ambassador Joash Maangi.

Speaking in Nyamira, Matiangi said were it not for Kenyatta, the duo could be still be incarceration in a foreigm country.

He spoke of a country facing chaos everywhere citing delayed disbursements of percapitation allocations to schools.

“You look left and right and nothing seems to be working, not SHA and not even education. It is disheartens,” Matiangi said at Gesiasa during a burial.

Matiangi said some of the projects being undertaken are illegal .

“Who has ever seen even the gazette notice of the university being established at Kiabonyoru for instance….I have not seen one… they are only doing one brick here, one brick there to dupe you that they are doing a university, which is pure political deception,” Matiangi stated.

He further accused Ruto of lethargy adding that for the better part of his first term in office he has perfected the art of empty rhetoric at the expense of service delivery.

“I have exercised great patience not to say much about them but today all of you now know the kind of incompetent leadership that we have,” said Matiangi.

The Jubilee Party deputy leader separately rallied the residents to register in the Jubilee Party adding that he had already rolled his sleeve ahead of the decisive poll in 2027.

“I am not going to look back, I only ask my brothers who are still roaming in the wild out there to come home,” said Matiangi.

He also asked the electorate, especially in the two Nyamira Wards of Ekerenyo and Mekenene ,to elect candidates who are supportive of his bid for Presidency.

Among those present were Senators Okongo o Mogeni , Senator Richard Onyonka, MPs Patrick Osero and Joash Nyamoko.
Onyonka said Ruto’s leadership has failed Kenyans further accusing the head of State of orchestrating massive theft denying the country the funds needed for development.

He also took issue with some mineral rich land purported to had been purchased in Kuria by Ruto sparking protests.

“Let him back off …he is stealing everything… Kenyans want a president they can feel save under, not a thief,” stated Onyonka.
He urged UDA leaders from Kisii to cross over and begin to work with Matiangi.
O Mogeni said Kenya was crying out for alternative leadership that can replace “Ruto’s dysfunctional leadership”.

He cited SHA among things not working and giving Kenyans sleepless nights.

The Senator said low tea bonuses for farmers this signals failed leadership on the side of Ruto.
Nyamoko said though he was still supportive of Matiangi he had the right to be in UDA , the party in which he was elected in.
He defended his right to abide by his decision to stick with Ruto.

There were however jeers when he said he would back the UDA candidate in the Ekerenyo Wardship mini polls.

Nyamoko fought back a section of the Gusii politicians who were accusing him of working against Matiangi of hypocrisy, even as they drummed support for Matiangi.
Osero promised UDA resounding defeat in the upcoming by-elections.

Former Borabu MP Ben Momanyi, on his part, urged the residents to respect their son and back up his bid to the end saying he has what it takes to succeed Ruto.

Senatorial aspirant Jeremiah Migos asked the Ruto to ensure tea farmers get their rightful bonus allocations.

PDP Party leader Omingo Magara accused Ruto of impunity describing him an Abunuas.

He said it was shameful that the Ruto adminstratiom was still full of thieves yet he promised to arrest graft.

He advised the electorate to hound the Ruto government out during the 2027 poll.

Former Kisii Central Ward Rep Kefa Mrefu told the electorate not to vote in thieves as the country gears up for another poll in 2027

He said already the community were united behind Matiangi.

“It is shameful that some people were rallying behind people who have plundered the country,” he said.

He said the by elections in Nyamira, the were an acid test for Matiangi and thus the need the need to vote aspirants allied to him.
