Rocky Lynch, born on November 1, 1994, in Littleton, Colorado, is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and producer best known for his contributions to the pop-rock scene.
As a multi-instrumentalist proficient in guitar, bass, piano, drums, and more, Rocky has carved out a notable place in the entertainment industry.
Raised in a musically inclined family, he moved to Los Angeles with his parents, Stormie and Mark Lynch, and his siblings in 2007 to pursue their collective dreams of stardom.
Rocky’s passion for music and his laid-back, creative personality have made him a beloved figure among fans, both as a member of the family band R5 and as one half of the duo The Driver Era.
Siblings
Rocky is the third of five siblings, all of whom have made their mark in the entertainment world.
The eldest sibling, Riker Lynch, born November 8, 1991, is an actor, singer, and dancer who gained recognition for his role as Jeff Sterling, a member of the Dalton Academy Warblers, on the Fox series Glee.
Riker also showcased his dancing skills on season 20 of Dancing with the Stars, finishing second with partner Allison Holker.
As a musician, he was the bassist and a lead vocalist in R5, and he now fronts his own band, Riker and The Beachcombers.
Riker married dancer Savannah Latimer in 2019. Rydel Lynch, born August 9, 1993, is the only sister in the family and a singer, actress, dancer, and YouTuber.
She played keyboards and provided vocals in R5, contributing to songs like “Sometime Last Night” and “Lightning Strikes.” Rydel has also appeared in projects such as Bunheads and the R5 documentary All Day, All Night.
Known for her vibrant energy, she has built a following beyond music through her online presence.
Ross Lynch, born December 29, 1995, is the second-youngest sibling and a singer, actor, and songwriter who rose to fame as Austin Moon in Disney Channel’s Austin & Ally.
He also starred as Brady in the Teen Beach Movie series and portrayed a young Jeffrey Dahmer in My Friend Dahmer.
Ross was the lead vocalist of R5 and now performs alongside Rocky in The Driver Era, where he often takes the lead vocal role.
Ryland Lynch, born April 17, 1997, is the youngest of the Lynch siblings and a DJ and music enthusiast.
While not an official member of R5, he served as the band’s unofficial manager during its early years and has performed as a DJ at their shows.

Career
Rocky musical journey began in earnest when he taught himself to play the guitar by watching Fall Out Boy videos, later teaching his brothers Riker and Ross to play bass and guitar, respectively.
This self-taught skill set laid the groundwork for the formation of R5 in 2009, alongside siblings Riker, Rydel, and Ross, and family friend Ellington Ratliff on drums.
Rocky served as the lead guitarist and a key songwriter, co-writing tracks like “Here Comes Forever” with Ross and contributing to the band’s debut EP, Ready Set Rock (2010).
R5 signed with Hollywood Records in 2012, releasing their first major EP, Loud (2013), and their debut album, Louder (2013), which blended pop and rock influences.
R5 achieved significant success, with their second album, Sometime Last Night (2015), debuting at number 6 on the Billboard 200.
The band toured extensively, performing across North America, Europe, and beyond.
In 2018, R5 went on hiatus, and Rocky teamed up with Ross to form The Driver Era, an alternative-rock duo that allowed them greater creative freedom.
Their debut single, “Preacher Man” (2018), marked a shift in sound, followed by their first album, X (2019). Rocky has taken on lead vocals for songs like “Low,” “Forever Always,” and “Flashdrive,” showcasing his versatility.
The Driver Era continues to evolve, with subsequent releases like Girlfriend (2021) reflecting a mix of styles from pop to experimental rock.
