President William Ruto has shared his Christmas message with Kenyans, urging them to celebrate safely, especially on the roads.
In a video shared on his Instagram stories, the President appeared to be at State House, dressed in a cape and shirt, smiling as he wished Kenyans a Merry Christmas.
In his message, Ruto reminded Kenyans to be vigilant while travelling and to avoid unnecessary losses during the festive season.
“Kenyans, 2025 we clocked it. I wish you a Merry Christmas, a great and blessed 2026 and on the road, let’s drive carefully. Avoid unnecessary loses,” Ruto said.
His message comes amid a rise in road accidents reported across the country during the festive period. In response to the situation, the government has taken action, with the Interior Cabinet Secretary recalling police officers who were on leave to help curb the incidents.
As Kenyans prepare to mark Christmas Day on December 25, traffic has been witnessed on major highways leading to upcountry, as many travel to spend the holidays with their families and loved ones.
Meanwhile, several Members of Parliament have been seen celebrating the season with residents in their constituencies, sharing foodstuffs and other items as part of Christmas goodwill activities.
Many Kenyans are counting down the hours to Christmas Day, as festive celebrations begin across the country.
