Deputy President William Ruto is slowly but surely building his 2022 campaign machine in the Nyanza region, an ODM stronghold.
According to former ODM youth leader, George Ayugi alias Mbuta, the DP is discreetly making in-roads in the area.
“Ruto’s campaign machine is being assembled and you will be shocked to know who are in the team from Luo Nyanza,” Ayugi told a local daily.
He further alleged that part of the 2022 Presidential machine bid are former members of parliament and county assembly representatives.
Things could definitely look up for the ‘hustler’ after he and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga hugged and shook hands during the National Prayer Breakfast on Friday.

The DP has been said to be against the March handshake between Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta but my be on board after apologies were tendered during the prayer breakfast.
It is also said that the seasoned politician is leaving nothing to chance and has his eyes on the Abagusii people.
The local daily reports that Ruto has already identified ‘his main political contacts, who he is using to galvanize the community behind him.’
