The owner of the controversial Taj Mall that has since rebranded to Airgate Mall Ramesh Gorasia has denied claims that Deputy President William Ruto has shares in the mall as has always been speculated.
He said that he is the sole owner and could show the title for the land to prove that the Deputy president did not have any shares.
The mall has been earmarked for demolition in an on going attempt to re-acquire illegally acquired public land.

He said that he acquired the land in 1991 and 1995 from Abuja Limited. However the National Land Commission chairman said that the land had been set aside for the construction of roads in the 1960s
Ramesh echoed the sentiments of Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu that rivers should be diverted instead of destroying buildings. He also said that he acquired the land legally and the officers at the lands office should be held accountable for giving illegal titles and making them look legitimate.
