    Safaricom Apologises Over M-Pesa Outage

    Safaricom is apologising for the continued outage of M-PESA services that has affected services. Through a statement, Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore said that “the cause of the outage  is yet to be identified but the company’s engineers are working hard to ensure the system is up and services back to normal.”

    The outage is said to have started around 1305Hrs and has affected all M-PESA handset transactions meaning that money transfers and other M-PESA services are not going through.

    “We wish to apologize to our M-PESA customers due to a system outage that has affected all handset transactions. Our engineers are working hard to ensure that the hitch is fixed and services brought back to normal,” said Collymore.

    Bob nevertheless assures all M-PESA customers that their money is safe and services will resume as soon as possible.
