Nairobi Senator, Johnson Sakaja has been labelled an ‘opposition sympathizer’ by his counterparts from Jubilee after he bailed out Embakasi East MP, Babu Owino who belongs to NASA.

Kikuyu MP, Kimani Ichung’wa and Gatundu South’s Moses Kuria scolded the first time senator for helping out Babu instead of letting him learn his lesson.

”Somebody went to get a small boy from the cells instead of helping the boy who has a long way to go to learn to respect the rule of law,” Kuria said.

”Babu Owino called me on Sunday and told me ‘please help me talk to so and so…’ but I told him lets meet when you are out of the cells. I was surprised to later see him with Sakaja,” he added.

They accused Sakaja of using Jubilee to win the senatorial seat and is now in NASA.

Babu was arrested on Friday and was held at the Parklands Police Station for two days before the senator made an undertaking of Ksh.104,000 and made a personal surety to produce him in court on Monday.

Sakaja condemned the arrest, and accused the police of detaining Babu for political reasons.

”And so we are saying whoever is trying to use the criminal justice system to score whichever goals should stop. And if you’re in the police force and you think by doing this you’re helping Jubilee you’re not and we’ve not asked you to that for us,” he said after having Babu released.
