Samsung Electronics East Africa has today unveiled its first premium brand shop in Kenya. The shop situated at the Junction Mall along Ngong Road, has a product experience zone with the full range of Samsung Smart phones, Tablets, Note, Visual Display, IT Solutions, Digital Imaging, Digital Appliances, Mobile Communications, laptops and other accessories.

Through the experience, Samsung looks to provide the consumer with an easily accessible location in which to discover the full spectrum of its offerings.

And as part of the premium brand shop launch, Samsung will be offering a discount sale of 5 per cent for the Galaxy Tab 10.1, the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy S2 on the launch date only (today).

Manoj Changarampat, Business Leader, SEEA said that apart from introducing innovative products, Samsung was determined to enhance the customer care service experience to take care of the needs of every single customer.

    He added:

“The shop, which will be a showcase in the latest technology, will be manned by fully trained and experienced Samsung staff that will able to take our customers through the whole Samsung experience”

Though Samsung did good in opening the shop and others in CBD Nairobi and other upmarket neighbourhood, many of the users who go for the socially focused devices are living in the middle class estates. And most of the gadget freaks are running their businesses in the same neighbourhoods.

It will be interesting to one day see Samsung open a shop in South B, South C, Buru Buru, Ngumo, Zimmerman, Donholm or Mountain View. These are the areas which will make Samsung have lasting footprints in this market.

Samsung is doing better than Nokia in enhancing user experience and availing their products in the region. Its competitive edge is still quality but with the entry of Huawei, ZTE and LG in the smartphone arena, Samsung needs to engage the pricing game to achieve maximum loyality.

Samsung has in the recent past expanded its customer care centers in Kenya, namely 5 in Nairobi, 1 in Kisumu, 1 in Eldoret and 1 in Mombasa, all geared to meet the needs of consumers.

Samsung has a strong focus in Africa at a time when the fortunes of Nokia are greatly diminishing in the continent.
