    Career

García’s professional career launched dramatically after a stellar amateur record that included winning the British Amateur Championship in 1998.

In just his sixth start as a pro, he claimed the 1999 Irish Open.

He earned his first PGA Tour victory at the 2001 MasterCard Colonial and soon became a consistent contender in majors, finishing runner-up at the 1999 PGA Championship as a 19-year-old and posting top-10 finishes in all four majors in 2002.

García’s breakthrough major victory came at the 2017 Masters Tournament, where he defeated Justin Rose in a playoff to claim the green jacket after years of near-misses.

He has secured 11 PGA Tour titles, including the prestigious 2008 Players Championship, along with 16 DP World Tour wins and additional victories on the LIV Golf circuit.

A stalwart of the Ryder Cup, García holds the record for the most points scored by a European player in the competition’s history, contributing across 10 appearances with memorable performances and strong partnerships.

He has represented Spain in the Olympics and continued competing at a high level into his 40s after joining LIV Golf, where team formats and global events have suited his competitive spirit.

    Accolades

García’s 2017 Masters win stands as the pinnacle, ending a long wait for a major title and cementing his legacy among golf’s greats.

He has earned 11 PGA Tour victories and 16 on the DP World Tour, with total professional wins exceeding 35 across various tours.

García reached a career-high world ranking of No. 2 and accumulated over 450 weeks inside the top 10.

Additional honors include multiple Player of the Year recognitions in Spain and induction into various halls of recognition for his contributions to European golf.
