Seven individuals were Monday arraigned before the Kiambu Law Court, facing criminal charges stemming from the violent demonstrations that took place on June 25, 2025, in Kikuyu, Kiambu County.

The suspects are under investigation for a range of criminal offences, including arson, robbery with violence, shop breaking, and theft.

After reviewing the evidence presented by detectives based at Kikuyu Sub-County, the court ordered that the suspects be held at Kiambu Police Station for a period of seven days to facilitate a thorough investigation.

Elsewhere, an intelligence-led operation conducted in Luluma Village, Makiri area, and Maua Township by law enforcement officers from Igembe South Sub-County resulted in the arrest of eight suspects and the recovery of 63 bags of government fertiliser stolen during the June 25, 2025, demonstration.

The operation also led to the seizure of one motor vehicle, a silver Probox and three motorcycles believed to have been used to transport the stolen goods.

Additionally, eight bags of cement were recovered along with the stolen fertiliser.

In a separate yet equally significant enforcement effort in Malindi, Kilifi County, fourteen suspects were apprehended following a meticulous forensic analysis that linked them to property vandalism during the recent protests.

All the suspects are currently in custody, undergoing processing pending arraignment.

In the meantime, law enforcement officers are following more leads to apprehend additional suspects and recover looted items.
