At least seven people drowned in separate incidents reported in the country.
The victims include a 12-year-old girl who drowned in a family borehole. The first incident happened in Bangale, Tana River where a man drowned in a well.
The man was fetching water from the well when he slid therein and drowned on February 23 evening.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending investigations.
In Mukurweini, Nyeri County, the body of a boy aged eight was found in a swampy stream after a drowning incident in Mawe village.
Police officers found the body partially submerged in a shallow pond inside a swampy seasonal stream. The body was moved to a local mortuary mortuary awaiting postmortem. Case pending under investigation.
In Homabay, the body of one Fred Abade, 28 was found in a trench of water in Soko Mjinga area after suspected drowning.
Police said they are investigating the incident.
In Kamagambo, Rongo, Migori County where the body of one James Ahero, 47 was discovered in a stream after a suspected drowning.
Police said the body was spotted by locals in Car Wash area and moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
In Litein, Kericho County, a body was found floating on River Kiptui after a suspected drowning on February 24. The body was later identified as that of Collins Mutai, 30 and a teacher at a local school.
The body was moved to a local mortuary pending autopsy and investigations into the drowning. Police said in Mukuyuni, Makueni County, a 12-year-old girl died after drowning in family borehole.
Police and the family of the girl said the girl slipped into the borehole as she fetched water and drowned. Locals rushed to her rescue in vain. She was pronounced dead on arrival at the local referral hospital.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations, police said.
In Nambale, Busia County, a 42-year-old woman drowned in a stagnant pool of water after she fell there. Police said the family of the woman informed them she was epileptic and that she had gone to fetch water from the pool when she slid and fell in there drowning.
The body was retrieved and moved to Busia County Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Elsewhere in Aram. Rarieda, Siaya County, a man was attacked and killed by a crocodile while fishing alone.
The incident happened in Kowang Beach as the victim ventured there for fish on February 24. The body of Kennedy Adere Okumu was later found in Lake Victoria by a team that had embarked on a search mission.
It was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures.
Such attacks are common at the beaches amid calls on the fishermen to be cautious to avoid more deaths.
