SIM swap scammers are using the IEBC register to register SIM cards, DCI George Kinoti has warned mobile subscribers.

Speaking at the mobile money fraud risk engagement forum by Safaricom and the banking industry, Kinoti noted that they will continue with the fight against cyber crime which is proving difficult “because criminals have come up with sophisticated avenues to defraud innocent Kenyans.”

He also asked the public to make available information that would help identify the criminals, defrauding unsuspecting Kenyans.
