Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Tuesday sent on compulsory leave senior 15 county employees linked to a land grabbing cartel.
Among those on suspension are: Lawyers Nyagara Nyamweya, Violet Oyagi, Evans Mogire, John Ombogi, Legal Services Director Karisa Iha and Principal Counsel Newton Mungai.
200 county workers were also locked out of their offices to make way for investigations. They are from the land, rates, legal, urban planning and debt collection departments.

The county boss revealed that county staffers would intentionally alter payment details and instead insert false debts in the records.
He also noted that former Governor Evans Kidero’s lawyer and cousin were part of a land grabbing syndicate that acquired land from the people illegaly.
