Seems like Linus Kaikai’s state of joblessness might continue for sometime as sources within the government circles and media industry have indicated that his hiring by Royal Media was blocked.
According to the deep embedded sources, State House pressured NMG to sack Linus Kaikai and end David Ndii’s articles as a condition for restoring the TV during the switch-off. Nation Media lacked the balls to tell David Ndii that his column would no longer be appreciated.
They only gave him a vague admission when he wrote to the group chairman, Wilfred Kiboro.
Its taken writing to the NMG Chairman to be told they’ve axed my column— and even then they don’t have the guts to say it straight. pic.twitter.com/DgQqXkloPg

NMG Chairman was negotiating on behalf of the group while SK Macharia is the only media owner who went to court and refused to negotiate. Citizen TV’s transmission was restored on condition that he withdraws the court case.
So SK Macharia offered to hire Kaikai to boost the media house after the exit of Faridah Karoney who joined the cabinet as a CS.

Royal Media staff who have served the organisation for a long time protested the hiring of Kaikai who is a randy fellow with no innovative knowledge to drive the growth of the media. So the protest plus a little pressure from State House forced SK Macharia to abandon the idea of hiring Linus Kaikai.
Instead of hiring Linus Kaikai to fill the position of Farida Karoney, Royal Media has decided to promoted Fred Afune to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Fred has been the head of programmes at Royal Media.

Now Kaikai is jobless. Sources at Nation Media Group (NMG) have assured us the only people who will miss Linus Kaikai most at NMG are the many women staffers and not anyone else.
