    Stéphane Rousseau was born in September 1966 in Quebec, Canada. He rose to prominence through stand-up comedy before transitioning into acting, where his versatility quickly made him a familiar face on both the big and small screens.

    Film and Television Career

    Rousseau made his film debut in 2002, starring as Francis Jobin in Les dangereux. He gained wider recognition the following year with his role as Sébastien in The Barbarian Invasions (Les invasions barbares), one of Canada’s most internationally celebrated films.

    In 2005, he appeared as Francisco Foote in the short film The Locrian Mode. Between 2006 and 2007, Rousseau had a recurring role in the television series Le cœur a ses raisons. He also starred in the TV movie Franck Dubosc… Juste pour rire! in 2007.

    His film career continued to expand with notable roles in Asterix at the Olympic Games (2008), where he played Alafolix, and Modern Love (2008), in which he portrayed Vincent. In 2009, he appeared in the television series Taxi 0-22.

    Rousseau was also a recurring cast member on the long-running comedy series La petite vie from 1998 to 2009, further cementing his popularity in Quebec. In 2010, he starred as Chris Prolls in Fatal, followed by a role as Sam Cohen in Omerta in *2012. He later appeared in Paris à tout prix (2013) as Nicolas, and in Le vrai du faux (2014), playing Marco Valois.
