Two university students were arrested yesterday in the evening after being found in possession of narcotic drugs.

The two, Mr Chris Duma Odhiambo aged 22 years and Mr Raymond Mwilo aged 20 years were nabbed after a bus stop in Odda, Moyale, Marsabit County as they tried to board a bus headed for Nairobi.

Three kilogrammes of bhang were found wrapped around their bodies.

The suspects are in police custody and will be arraigned in court on Monday.

In a separate case, a Mombasa businessman Mr Abdulmajid Mselem Timami was also arrested by Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) detectives on Friday with one kilogram of heroin valued at Ksh1.5 million.

The narcotics were concealed in the suspect’s new car and were wrapped in a polythene bag, ready for supply.

The businessman who owns a fleet of trucks that operate within East Africa is suspected of being involved in the drug trafficking business for almost a decade and resides in Tudor.

The 47-year-old suspect will also be arraigned in court on Monday.

This came just hours after police officers seized bhang worth millions of shillings after a serious accident at Delamere area along Nakuru-Nairobi road.

A 46-year-old driver was arrested and is under police watch as he recovers in hospital. One suspect escaped and is being pursued by Police.
