Supreme court on Friday, 1 September invalidated the election of  President Uhuru Kenyatta. According to the Chief Justice, David Maraga, Kenyatta was not lawfully elected and IEBC should conduct New Elections Within 60 Days.

He directed the first respondent, IEBC to conduct the elections in conformity with the law within sixty days.

Four judges stated that the the elections were invalid and were not in conformity with the law.

Two Judges Njoki Ndung’u and Justice Ojwang dissented to the majority rule.
