The Supreme court of Kenya has denied IEBC chairman Wafula chebukati permission to amend or alter form 34A and 34B during the October 26 fresh presidential elections.

The IEBC chairman had filed a petition to seek clarification on what the court meant by the verification of results before declaration by the national returning officer for the presidential elections. He wanted the court to give a way forward on what he was supposed to do if he noted discrepancies on the forms.

The contradiction came during the landmark Supreme court ruling which faulted the IEBC chairman for not verifying the results that came in from the poling station. In his defense the chairman said that according to a court of appeal ruling the court said that the results at the polling station would be final.

The Supreme court in making its decision upheld the ruling of the court of appeal and stated that the IEBC chairman would not be allowed to ammend or alter the results in the said forms.
