TELKOMTelkom Kenya is on the verge of a major break through following a gazette notice published by the National Land Commission (NLC) on behalf of the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs.

According to the notice, the NLC plans to procure 79 acres of land owned by Telkom Kenya Limited along Ngong Road.

NLC chairman Muhammad Swazuri has confirmed that there are plans to start Jua Kali operations on the land.

Should the deal go through the corporation would receive a large sum of money based on the current land prices in the area.

Based on a land price index by property management firm Hass Consult, an acre of land along Ngong Road costs approximately Sh57 million meaning the company would receive around Sh4.5 billion.

Telkom Kenya has confirmed that it is aware of the governments’ plan.
