Orange Kenya has today launched a month long 3G data promotion targeting the youth in target universities and colleges.

The campaign dubbed 3G Campus Offer, will see students from target universities enjoy one month’s free unlimited internet with the purchase of an Orange Internet Everywhere 3G Modem. Orange mobile customers currently enjoy unlimited internet for as low as KSh 39 daily, KSh 249 weekly and KSh 990 monthly while the Orange Internet Everywhere 3G modem customers access unlimited internet for KSh 990 and KSh 2,990 on a weekly and monthly basis respectively

The 3G Campus Offer also seeks to increase the adoption and use of Orange data services through the firm’s high speed 3G modems, as institutions of higher learning re-open for another semester this month.

Orange will be touring various universities and colleges over the next 30 days as it seeks to create awareness of the data offering through sporting events and other social activities on these campuses.

Students who will not be able to access these data devices at their campuses will be able to test and purchase them from select Orange shops. A student can purchase a maximum of two modems once they produce valid student identification.

The 3G modems are plug and play and are compatible with various operating systems to ensure simplicity of use as well as allowing the students to benefit from fast download and upload speeds

The offer that is also expected to enhance the students’ learning and research capabilities through the use of ICT tools and e-learning will run up until June 15, 2012, and will be applicable to dongles pre-loaded with the monthly unlimited internet bundle for KSh. 1,999.
