Telkom Kenya has today launched its revamped retail shop in Kisumu, as part of an ongoing expansion of its sales and distribution footprint in the country.

The shop is the third one to be opened this quarter– after Telkom launched outlets in Mombasa and Eldoret.

Speaking at the shop launch, the Governor of Kisumu County, Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o says: “By strengthening its presence in Kisumu, Telkom is supporting the county government’s technology agenda for the long term. Kisumu has identified technology as one of the pillars for its development because of its crosscutting nature. We look forward to partnering with service providers such as Telkom to deliver the benefits of Technology to the people of Kisumu County.”

The shop that is located within Kisumu’s central business district will provide the complete suite of Telkom services, including sale of devices, airtime and registration of SIMs, mobile financial services through Telkom’s T-kash, as well as customer support services.

Telkom’s CEO, Aldo Mareuse says, “Our mission at Telkom is to connect the people who keep Kenya on the move. This is why we remain committed to grow our footprint across the country, setting up modern sales and distribution outlets, providing an opportunity for customers to interact with our products and services.”

Besides the retail outlets, Telkom’s other customer touchpoints include its mobile application – My Telkom app, a 24-hour contact center, its corporate website and its social media channels.

Telkom has been operating in Kisumu County for more than 50 years and currently serves that county with integrated telecommunications solutions for the retail market, as well as Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), Government and Corporate bodies alike.
