A fight between two groups over a prime piece of land in Kileleshwa area, Nairobi turned bloody after two men were left with deep panga cuts.
The groups had been ferried to the site off Likoni Lane to take over ownership of a piece of land that has been hosting a garage.
One group started to fence off the land in the drama before the other joined to chase them, prompting a fight using pangas and other crude weapons, police and witnesses said.
Police said the groups numbering more than 30 from both sides had come on motorcycles.
Those coming to chase the ones that was fencing the land cut down maize and banana plants, chased and assaulted the group that was fencing the land in the drama.
Police were called to the scene in the Tuesday drama and found two men with deep cuts all over their bodies.
They were rushed to the hospital and admitted in serious condition.
The invaders escaped the scene, leaving five motorcycles, which were seized by police.
A man who claimed to be the owner of the land was questioned at the scene and at Kileleshwa police station pending further probe into the clashes.

Some of those eyeing the land are speculators and grabbers.
Police say the land tussles and grabbing have increased amid operations to address the trend.
The grabbers target land, which is usually undeveloped and collude with government officials to forge ownership documents.
The issue of ownership documents has been thorny, with the US government raising concerns over the increase in forged ones.
A land fraud unit has been formed to address the complaints and it seems to be overwhelmed.
