Two Maseno University students were on Sunday shot and their belongings stolen as they headed back to their hostels after watching France thrash Croatia in the World Cup final.
Vincent Ochieng and Eugene Ndobi are nursing injuries after they were attacked by three armed men at Nyawita Village behind the Maseno Siriba campus.
According to Kisumu West OCPD Wilstone Mwakio, Ndobi was shot in his right wrist and his colleague sustained gunshot wounds in the chest and arm.
The two were rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Police discovered cartridges from the scene of crime.
It is suspected that the thugs came all the way from Luanda.
Investigations into the unfortunate incident are ongoing.
