Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago is mourning the death of his mother, Mama Esther Lelei.
Leaders from across the country have taken to social media to send messages of condolence to the senator and his family.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen described the loss of a mother as deeply painful and offered prayers for strength and comfort.
“The pain of losing a mother is profound and beyond words. May God grant you comfort, strength and peace during this time of immense grief,” Murkomen said.
Education Principal Secretary Julius Kibet Bitok also sent his condolences to the senator.

In a message, Bitok said his mother would be remembered for her strong values, love, and positive influence on her family and the community.
“Mama Esther will be remembered for her unwavering love, moral strength and the enduring values she instilled in her children and the community,” Bitok said, adding, “May the Almighty God grant us courage, comfort and serenity during this difficult time, and may her soul rest in eternal peace.”
Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii described Mama Esther as a compassionate and selfless woman who dedicated her life to her family and community.
“On behalf of the County Government and the people of Uasin Gishu, I convey my heartfelt condolences to Senator Jackson Mandago and his family on the passing of his beloved mother, Esther Lelei,” Governor Bii said.
