Violence erupted in Gatina Primary school in Kawangware after Acting Interior CS visited the school to see if exams had started as scheduled.The youth of the area wanted the CS Fred Matiang’i to address them with regards to the security issues in the area.
The CS however left without speaking to the crowd who barricaded the entry of the school. Violence erupted shortly after Fred Matiang’i had left the school. One the cars on his motorcade however damaged in the demonstrations

There has been unrest in Kawangware 56 following the fresh presidential elections on October 26.Police were forced to disperse the crowds with teargas as the pupils watched from the classroom windows.
A motor vehicle belonging to journalists from citizen tv was damaged during the fracas
A lot of property in the area has been destroyed during the violence including a supermarket that was set ablaze.
