    Urassaya Sperbund is a prominent Thai actress and model, widely known by her nickname Yaya.

    Born on March 18, 1993, in Pattaya, Chonburi province, Thailand, she comes from a multicultural background with a Norwegian father, Sigurd Sperbund, who worked as a stockbroker, and a Thai mother, Urai Sperbund, who was a homemaker.

    This blend of heritage has contributed to her fluency in multiple languages, including Thai, English, Norwegian, French, and Spanish.

    She grew up in a supportive family environment and pursued her education at international schools, including Regent’s International School Pattaya and Bangkok Patana School, before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Language and Culture from Chulalongkorn University.

    Urassaya began her entertainment career in 2008 at the age of 14, starting with modeling for commercials and music videos, as well as a role in the sitcom Peun See Long Hon.

    Her breakthrough came in 2010 with the leading role in the romantic drama series Duang Jai Akkanee, which catapulted her to widespread fame and established her as a top actress in Thailand.

    She continued to build her reputation through starring roles in popular television dramas such as Game Rai Game Rak in 2011 and Khluen Chiwit in 2017, showcasing her versatility in romantic and dramatic genres.

    Transitioning successfully to film, she delivered acclaimed performances in movies like Brother of the Year in 2018 and Fast & Feel Love in 2022, earning praise for her acting depth.

    Over the years, she has also ventured into singing, releasing tracks and appearing in music videos, while maintaining a strong presence in fashion and endorsements.

    Accolades

    Urassaya is a two-time winner of the prestigious Suphannahong National Film Awards for Best Actress, honoring her work in films such as Brother of the Year and Fast & Feel Love.

    Additional major honors include a TV Gold Award for her performance in Khluen Chiwit, a Nataraj Award, and three Mekhala Awards.

    She has also secured wins from the Kom Chad Luek Awards, a Thai Film Director Award, and early accolades like the Hamburger Award for The Next Female Icon.
