    Verónica Orozco, born Verónica Orozco Aristizábal on June 8, 1979, in Bogotá, Colombia, is a prominent Colombian actress and singer.

    She is the daughter of actor Luis Fernando Orozco and has built a successful career blending acting and music.

    In her personal life, she was married to Colombian comedian Martín de Francisco from 2007 until their separation, and she has a daughter named Violeta, born in 2012.

    Verónica has two sisters, both of whom share her family background in the arts.

    Her older sister, Ana María Orozco, is a well-known actress celebrated for her iconic role in the telenovela “Yo soy Betty, la fea.”

    The other sister is Juliana Orozco, though less is publicly known about her compared to the acting careers of Verónica and Ana María.

    Career

    Orozco’s career in entertainment kicked off in 1992 with her role in the Colombian television musical show “Oki Doki,” which not only marked her acting debut but also led to the release of three albums under the group name Okidoki during the early 1990s.

    Transitioning to film, she made her debut in 2001 with an appearance in “Bogotá 2016.”

    In 2006, she embarked on a solo music career, releasing her self-titled album “Verónica Orozco,” which included controversial and successful singles such as “Las Bragas,” “Miénteme,” and “Descarada.”

    Her acting portfolio expanded with notable roles in films like “A Ton of Luck” (2006), “Anónima” (2015) where she played Victoria Cuartas, “Sanandresito” (2012), “El Caso Watson” (2017), and the biographical series “Arelys Henao” (2022), in which she portrayed the titular character.

    Verónica continues to be active in both television and film, showcasing her versatility as a performer.

    Accolades

    In the realm of acting, Orozco received a nomination for Best Actress at the Premios Macondo in 2013 for her performance in “Sanandresito” and another nomination in the same category in 2017 for “El Caso Watson.”

    More recently, in 2024, she won the Talento Award for Mejor Actriz Principal in a Superserie for her role in “Arelys Henao.”
