Veteran radio presenter Edward Carey Kwach has passed away while undergoing treatment for meningitis, his family announced on Tuesday morning.

In a statement issued by family spokesperson Michael Okwiri, the Kwach family shared that Carey died on the night of April 28, 2025.

Kwach had been under medical care for several weeks and had recently made a public call for blood donations, which sparked an outpouring of support from fans and fellow media personalities.

“With deep sorrow, we announce the sudden loss of our beloved son and brother, Carey… His voice and spirit touched countless lives, making him a cherished companion to listeners nationwide,” the family’s statement said.

Renowned for his vibrant voice, quick wit, and passion for music, Kwach was a prominent figure in Kenya’s radio industry for more than 20 years.
