The Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat (VDS) has invited stakeholder groups across the country to participate in the establishment of a Multi-Stakeholder Steering Committee that will guide Kenya’s national conversation on its long-term development future.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, the Secretariat said the committee will provide leadership and guidance to public conversations from the grassroots at ward level to the national level.
“The Committee will also help ensure that Kenya’s next long-term development vision reflects the collective aspirations of Kenyans, values and principles of the Constitution,” the notice reads.
The initiative comes as Kenya’s Vision 2030 approaches the end of its implementation period and the country begins discussions on a new long-term development framework.
In January 2026, President William Ruto tasked a Technical Working Group chaired by Kisumu Governor Professor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o with preparing strategic guidelines to stimulate thinking and public conversations on Kenya’s long-term development future.
Following the publication of the group’s report on July 21, 2026, a National Conversation on Beyond Vision 2030 was launched on August 12, 2026.
The subsequent stakeholder engagements agreed that the next phase should involve broad and inclusive public conversations aimed at building national consensus on Kenya’s future development direction.
The engagements also identified broad clusters of organisations that will participate in the national conversation.
The Secretariat is inviting nominations and expressions of interest from organised stakeholder groups representing various sectors.
The clusters include MSMEs and private-sector employers, workers’ associations, professional associations, children’s organisations, youth-serving organisations, student networks and women’s networks.
Other categories are persons with disabilities, civil society organisations, faith-based organisations, academia and research institutions, the diaspora, the digital and technology sector, media organisations, farmers and cooperatives.
The Secretariat will also consider representatives of marginalised and minority communities and pastoralists.
Each stakeholder cluster will be expected to identify a convenor and nominate three volunteer representatives to the Multi-Stakeholder Steering Committee.
The nominations should include at least one man, one woman and one youth.
The Secretariat said the convenor should be an organisation in good standing and with recognised credibility within the relevant stakeholder sector or cluster.
The organisation should also demonstrate experience, institutional capacity and the ability to bring together and engage a broad and diverse range of organisations and stakeholders within the sector and across the country.
Nominees, on the other hand, should be persons of integrity and good standing within their respective sectors.
They should have relevant experience and demonstrate willingness and availability to support public conversations and consensus-building from the grassroots to the national level.
The Secretariat said participation in the committee will be voluntary.
Organisations that do not identify with the listed stakeholder clusters have also been encouraged to submit their proposals for consideration.
Such organisations are required to prepare a one-page memorandum explaining the stakeholders or groups they represent, why they should be included in the national conversation and how they could contribute to discussions at both grassroots and national levels.
The memorandum can be submitted through the Beyond-2030 portal.

Stakeholders may also submit or deliver their memoranda using the contact details provided by the Secretariat.
All submissions must be received through the portal on or before October 7, 2026, at 5pm East African Time.
The submissions should be clearly marked “Expression of Interest: Beyond-2030 Steering Committee Nomination.”
They should be addressed to the Acting Director General, Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat (VDS), 7th Floor, Britam Centre, P.O. Box 52301–00200, Nairobi, Kenya.
