    Vivo Energy Kenya Deepens Motorsport Investment with Sponsorship of Seven Rally Drivers

    Vivo Energy Kenya, the company that distributes and markets Shell-branded products and services in the country, has today announced Shell’s sponsorship of seven drivers set to compete in the 2026 Shell Autocross series and the World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally Kenya 2026, which will take place from 12th to 15th March 2026 in Naivasha.

    The drivers sponsored by Shell are:
    1. Tinashe Gatimu / Caroline Gatimu
    2. Rajveer Thethy / Laban Cliff Onserio
    3. Lisa Christoffersen / Christabel Wacuka
    4. Neel Gohil / Wayne Fernandez
    5. Michuki Hinga / Mwangi Kioni
    6. Ishmael Azeli /John Ngugi
    7. Suleiman Munyua

    These drivers embody Shell’s spirit of passion, skill and resilience and continue to demonstrate the determination required to compete in one of the world’s most competitive rally and in the Shell Autocross series, where drivers have the opportunity to test their limits and also hone their skills.

    During the official unveiling of the sponsorship at Shell Northview station along Thika road, Mr Patrick Masinde, Vivo Energy Kenya Retail Manager said: “This sponsorship aligns with our commitment of creating long-term value for our communities. By investing in these drivers, we are supporting and nurturing Kenya’s finest talent to rise and compete on the global stage.”

    Shell has decades of global motorsport heritage, underscoring its long-standing commitment to innovation and performance on the track. The company has been a technical partner to Scuderia Ferrari in Formula One for more than 75 years and works closely with Hyundai Motorsport in the FIA World Rally Championship.

    In addition, Shell is the title sponsor of the Motorsports Excellence Awards scheduled for later this month. These initiatives reinforce Shell’s continued key role in nurturing emerging talent and strengthening Kenya’s motorsport ecosystem.
