Smartphone maker Wiko Mobile, will tomorrow launch its handsets in the Kenyan market as it seeks to boost its sales. The vendor is going to use its Kenya and Nigeria launch as an entry into the nascent Africa smartphone market.

Wiko is majority-owned by Chinese technology group Tinno Mobile, manufactures its phones in China. It started operations in France nearly four years ago. The Wiko Mobile Kenya Country Manager, John Mutwiri, is set to lead the launch.

The firm has previously indicated that pricing of the Android smartphones will be their main competition strategy to clinch a pie of the lucrative Kenyan smartphone market.

Apart from Kenya and Nigeria, Wiko is also making an entry into Poland, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as it seeks to spread globally. The company believes that Chinese manufacturers such as Huawei, TECNO and ZTE, are its biggest competitors in the region.
