    Winnie Mandela Passes On At The Age Of 81

    Former first lady and ex wife to the late Nelson Mandela, Winnie Mandela has passed on at the age of 81 years. She stood by Nelson Mandela during his 27 years of incarceration.

    The family spokesman, Victor Dlamini said that Winnie Madikizela Mandela succumbed to her illness peacefully on Monday afternoon. She had been in and out of hospital from the begining of the year.

    Winnie Mandela was born in Eastern cape in 1938 and was married to Nelson Mandela for 38 years before their divorce.

    May her soul rest in eternal peace.
